Agricultural residues for cellulolytic enzyme production by Aspergillus niger: effects of pretreatment
Different agricultural residues were considered in this study for their ability to support cellulolytic enzyme production by Aspergillus niger. A total of eleven agricultural residues including finger millet hulls, sorghum hulls, soybean hulls, groundnut husk, banana peels, corn stalk, cassava peels, sugarcane bagasse, saw dust, rice straw and sheanut cake were subjected to three pretreatment (...
متن کاملSolid State Fermentation for Production of Chitosan by Aspergillus Niger
The effect of Solid State Fermentation (SSF) on Chitosan production by A. niger was investigated. A. niger BBRC 20004 from Biochemical and Bioenvironmental Research Centre of Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, Iran), was grown on corn residue. Chitosan was extracted from the fungal mycelia using hot alkaline and acid treatment. A. niger was incubated for 12 days on corn residue with moist...
متن کاملProduction of the enzyme naringinase by Aspergillus niger.
The formation of naringinase, a glycolytic enzyme produced by Aspergillus niger, is repressed by glucose. Production of the enzyme is decreased below pH 4.0 and is stimulated by the presence of substrate. Fermentation conditions are described which cause the formation of the enzyme in approximately a fivefold greater concentration than that previously described.
متن کاملScreening of Urease Production by Aspergillus niger Strains
In this study, urease production was investigated among thirteen strains of Aspergillus niger seven strains isolated from soils of Semnan province in Iran and six strains obtained from Persian Type Culture Collection (PTCC). The enzyme production was screened in two submerged media quantitatively. The registered PTCC 5011 and the native S31 strains showed more urease production than the other e...
متن کاملProduction kinetics and characterization of pectinase enzyme from Aspergillus niger
Food grade pectinases from Aspergillus niger are predominantly used as processing aids in industries. In the present investigation, efforts towards standardization for pilot scale production of pectinase enzyme from A. niger were made. The crude enzyme was studied for its kinetics to optimize substrate concentration and processing parameters on the basis of polygalacturonic activity. Km (Michae...
